Many people believe hummingbirds are messengers from the other side, appearing in times of need or danger. In addition, hummingbirds are thought to have healing & protection powers. Hummingbirds remind us to be present in the little joys of each moment while staying ever vigilant to the bigger picture.
They are symbols of: Migration, hope & perseverance, peace & joy, strength & hope.
Hummingbirds are believed to carry messages of love from souls that have moved on. Inspired by the idea of bestowal, I envisioned a treasured heirloom being passed on. I spent months drawing “crystals” over the body, creating scallops for inlaid shell over the head. Forming a heart around the eye for the love being shared when they are near. All to encapsulate & represent the magic they possess.
The Hummingbird has its mouth open to represent its vocal personality and convey its message of love.

My artwork is Hand screen printed locally in Oregon on this high quality ultra soft Bella+Canvas soft and relaxed unisex full zip up hoodie, spun from a plush poly-cotton blend "Sponge Fleece". Features a relaxed fit, hood with white drawstrings, full zip closure and ribbed cuffs and waistband. They run long/one size up.
